They aren't audiophile quality, but I certainly don't need that while listening in the shower. I figured if they sounds crummy I'd change them out down the road. They sound great. I was looking for speakers in the master suite (bedroom & bathroom) I needed three pairs. Great product, easy to install, highly recommended. Even the BORG wanted $100+/pair for 5 1/4" generics. I was not looking forward to paying $200/pair plus wall controls for the name brands. I got three sets for less than $200 with controls, delivered.
The speakers are connected directly to a Kenwood receiver and the sound is perfect for what we need. Installation was easy and I like the ability to aim the tweeters. No complaints so far. I was looking for relatively inexpensive in-ceiling speakers to play background music in our entrance and kitchen area. After reading several positive reviews I also decided to use these as my two rear surround speakers as well.
The manufacturer's instructions were the best written documentation I can remember seeing with a product of this type and the product performance is all I could have wanted. The device was received promptly and was exactly as described. I'm very pleased with the supplier.
Finally, the installation was very easy. I purchased two sets of these Phoenix Gold ceiling speakers thru Amazon and I am very pleased with my purchase. I purchased these at a great price, I received timely delivery, and the speakers are a great sounding addition to my my home entertainment system.
Supports for 8in speakers are easy to find, not so easy for these. Well I found my own solution. I bought these when they were $38, a great deal. Of the 2 places I found that maybe sold them, one was a large quantity seller and the other cost just as much as the speakers. I glued a pair of 2ft long pieces of suspended ceiling supports ($1 each) the narrow way, to the tile and then installed the speaker so that two of the clamping tabs were on the supports. I am installing them in 2x4 ceiling tiles. Having experienced sagging tiles in the past, I wanted to make sure they were supported properly so I searched for some support hardware.
